How to choose your Hidden Power type

Postby Poke' Woman » Thu Jul 18, 2013 11:26 am

*THE FOLLOWING IS A REMAKE OF SGT. GUAVA'S ORIGINAL POST!* I  just thought it was better suited here...

The type that your hidden power is depends on your IVs. Normally they are random, but with the editor you can choose them :D

Simply lower the below IV(s) to 30 and leave the rest at 31

Dark: none
Psychic: attack, defense, speed
Poison: defense, special attack, special defense
Electric: special attack
Grass: attack, special attack
fire: attack, special attack, speed
water: special attack, speed
Bug: special defense, speed
Rock: special defense, defense, speed
Dragon: attack
fighting: defense, special attack, special defense, speed
ground: special attack, special defense
flying: special attack, special defense, speed
Ice: attack, defence
steel: special defence

So all IVs need to be 0 in order to get a Dark hidden power? And what happens with 6IV pokes?

When she said "none", that means don't set any IVs to 30, leave them all at 31. So to get a Dark Type, you'd want all 31s. :)

This helping me so much to make bunch of Dittos with variable Hidden Power for breed in Gen VI. I thought that one of the IVs must to be 0, so turns out that 30 working well too. Thank You so much pikachu

P.S. : Sorry for my bad English. Cheers!

More specifically, it works by a combination of even and odd IVs. So any IV that should be 30 can be any even number and those that should be 31 can be any odd number. This is an important distinction, since when you breed with the Destiny Knot, only 5IVs get passed and the 6th one is random. So even if you have two perfect parents for breeding a specific HP child, you will have a 50/50 shot at getting the right hidden power child.
