For those with old 3DS,we've got a problem.

Postby AltCrab2 » Sun May 01, 2016 2:55 pm

The old 3DS is still around, but unfortunately for us, there is/could be a price. As players and loyal fans of Pokemon and Nintendo, we keep our systems updated at all times to ensure maximum playability. Usually. As we know, Pokedit QR works for 9.0 and 9.5, but the 3DS is past those versions. I update mine constantly to try and fix the biggest and wierdest problem i've ever seen: my 3DS can't connect to the internet, even though it is displayed as max connection, but ONLY IN MY OWN HOUSE. Wait, WHAT?! Yep, my house is a deadzone for my 3DS, so of course I would keep updating. I'm getting bored with you Pokemon! So I might as well make things interesting, right? Well my Powersaves isn't fully updated because i lost the model number, and, again, the wifi thing. So there's nothing I can do, other than buy a new 3DS, but I can't afford one. GREAT. Any suggestions? (also put it in your reply if you actually read the whole post. If so, congrats and thanks for listening!)

Googled. Have you tried:

-Seeing if your router is G standard? 3DS's only support G and onwards
-Do you have MAC filtering on? If so, turn it off
-Update your router? Might be old
-Tried manually entering the WiFi settings instead of auto? There's videos on how to do it

And if all else fails:
-Have you tried unplugging your router and then putting it back in?
-Turn it off and back on again?
-Reset it?

to add on to what Nooga said.
There is either something wrong with the way you have your home connection set in the 3Ds or you home Router is not configured correctly/is blocking you.

Thanks guys, but i've tried everything. I found a router that i think might be better for me, so maybe that'll work. If not, i'll just trade in my 3DS for a new one. Think an asus RT-AC5300 will work? :D

Before going out to buy a new router try resetting the one you have to fac settings or check to see if there is a firmware upgrade available for it.

You can easily google how to reset your router to fac settings

So If I'm not mistaken the 3DS and well all of them but perhaps the new one only support 2.4 GHZ connections. So if for some reason you can see more than one of yours if you have a dual band router, make sure you're connecting to the right one, also as stated you want to make sure the protocol you're using is supported (I have mine set to use N/AC mixed and it works fine). Additionally, you want to check your wireless channel, if you're not set to auto, you could have a lot of interference from other 2.4 sources (it's a very small frequency band) and will want it to be auto to try and compensate for random interference. I can definitely help you if you need it. Good luck.
