I've got a new phone and been playing with my family! Spent a whole day out playing Go and catching all sorts. Had to go home when we all run out of battery. Mum even caught a Rhydon!

Hey everybody,
I live in LA and the response to Pokémon Go has been AMAZING. We all went to the Pier on Friday night, and Pokémania is a thing. They had the theme song playing and people were breakdancing or doing funny skits to it. The games had Pokémon plush toys for prizes, and most everybody there had their phones out. Whenever a rare Pokémon would spawn, you'd hear excited gasps and see groups move towards the area. Its been really cool to see and be a part of.
And yes, it has absolutely inspired some of us to get out of the house and walk around more.

The library in my town tried to get kids to read by making it a pokegym and giving out prizes for catching pokemon haha.

Pokemon Go actually encouraged me to go on walks. I'm overweight and at risk at developing diabetes and blockages. So this little gem could potentially help me dodge two bullets here.
I'm still struggling, but I'm slowly improving.

Re: Pokemon Go and what it's brought to the lives of many
My mom has Multiple Sclerosis, and can't get out very easily, and has a very hard time walking, and my 11 year old brother has extreme social anxiety, and Pokemon Go has gotten them both out of the house together and going to the park etc. I will defend this game to the death because of the positive it has brought into people's lives.
