Connecting to Pokedit using own DNS server [Advanced Users]

Postby apatuka » Tue May 20, 2014 7:34 pm

Greetings, i found a way to connect to Pokedit using some DNS modifications and using the ALTWFC.

If you have some skills editing DNS, then you can do the following:

R4 Card with your Pokemon ROMs. AFAIK only works in Pokemon D/P/Pt/HG/SS, haven't tested on B/W & B2/W2

Create a DNS Server (I suggest a free DNS Server like Dual DHCP DNS Server unless you have a own DNS Server)

Have your Pokemon ROM patched with SSLPatcher v1.4

NOTE: Make sure to DO a backup of your .nds and your .sav

Create these DNS Records:

A Record: (This is the ALTWFC server)

nas.nintendowifi.net 75.127.5.215

A Record: (This is the Pokedit GTS Server)

gamestats2.gs.nintendowifi.net 23.239.1.212

Now patch your ROM using SSLPatcher, by just drag and drop your .nds ROM on SslPatcher.exe

Once is done, copy the patched .nds ROM inside your R4.

Select your pokemon game and go to Nintendo WFC Settings -> Options -> Erase all WFC Data

Play the game, go to the GTS Center and connect, it will ask you for generate a new WFC ID, hit Yes

and wait till is done. Make sure you have some pokemons on your queue to try.

Wait a few seconds and your in !

Hope someone can make a better and understandable tutorial, sorry for my english !

Does this still work even if PokÉdit has turned off their GTS Feature? I guess you can't queue any Pokémon now?
